Perinatal Therapy

Get professional support for pregnancy, the postpartum period, and parenting.

You’re not alone. Get therapy related to pregnancy, postpartum depression, and more.

Pregnancy & Childbirth

Pregnancy can bring a mix of excitement and anxiety as you navigate physical changes and emotional challenges. It’s common to experience worry about the baby’s health, body changes, and approaching life changes. Perinatal therapy provides a supportive space to address these concerns and to help you manage your stress. We will also focus on identifying early signs of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) to ensure your emotional well-being. We can work together to help you feel more grounded and prepared for motherhood.

Postpartum Depression

The postpartum period can bring emotional and physical challenges as you adjust to life with a newborn. You may be experiencing emotional shifts, including postpartum depression or anxiety, which require support. I offer support for:

  • Navigating the emotional changes of the postpartum period

  • Processing birth trauma and/or grief in your transition to motherhood

  • Adjusting to new roles and identities, and finding your ease amidst the complexity

  • Strengthening the communication in your relationships during a time of profound change

  • Managing anxiety, depression, and intrusive thoughts

  • Building resilience and support systems to empower you in your new role as a parent

Partners & Parenting

Becoming a parent, for the non-birthing partner, is a transformative experience that often goes unrecognized in the context of perinatal mental health. New dads and non-birthing parents face unique emotional challenges, including adjusting to family dynamics, navigating identity shifts, and managing anxiety or depression. I offer a supportive space for fathers and non-birthing parents to explore their emotional experiences, build a deeper connection with their partner and child, and address feelings of isolation, stress, or burnout.

Whether you’re preparing for the arrival of your first child or adjusting to life as parents, couples therapy can help you deepen your connection, improve communication, and navigate this time with greater intimacy and trust. Together, we’ll work on navigating shifting roles and identities within the relationship, strengthening communication and emotional support, and managing new stressors while maintaining a sense of partnership.

How It Works

Step 1: Contact me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation by phone or video call. This is our first chance to get to know each other and for you to decide whether this feels like a good fit.

Step 2: Our first 1-2 sessions (typically 60 minutes) will focus on getting to know you. We’ll complete an intake interview to explore your life, concerns, and history, and together we’ll identify your treatment goals, ensuring they resonate with you.

Step 3: In subsequent sessions (typically 45 minutes), we’ll process your thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and develop strategies to help you cope with life’s challenges. Throughout this process, I’ll be by your side to provide support, build self-awareness, and help you navigate any distress or obstacles you may face.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional, I offer a safe, supportive, and nurturing space to help you find clarity, balance, and healing, whether you’re navigating pregnancy, the postpartum period, or other challenges or transitions.

I take a holistic approach, considering not only your emotional well-being but also your relationships and your physical and social health. Drawing from my experience in various clinical settings, as well as my experience as a mother of two young children, I approach each client with curiosity, care, and a desire to help you grow and heal.
